In the early 2000s, Alnoor and Laila Bandali sought to find a school for their own young children. Disheartened by the childcare offerings available to them, the Bandalis decided to take the challenge on themselves and create a learning center that would combine academic excellence and innovation with a nurturing and joyful environment. So in 2015, they started Ivy Kids Systems. Since then Katy, Texas-based Ivy Kids has grown to become a leading player in the early education and childcare franchise space. The organization currently has 14 (5 corporate and 8 franchise) locations since it began franchising in 2015 and is looking to open new units.
Ivy Kids is driven by an ethos that every child is a ‘unique individual’ and has created a ‘home away from home’ where they can grow to their fullest potential in a safe and nurturing environment. It offers child care programs for children from infant level to pre-kindergarten, including after-school enrichment and summer programs. The enrichment programs include a weekly Science and Spanish curriculum for children as young as two years old and a variety of other extra-curricular activities. The curriculum is engaging, innovative research-based one that emphasizes fun, active learning, exposure to multiple intelligences and caters to a diversity of learning styles. Unlike other childcare providers, Ivy Kids aims to appeal to the child’s ability to develop their unique emotional, intellectual, social and physical intelligence to help them build the foundation they need to grow into happy, successful adults. Ultimately, the purpose is to cultivate a lifelong joy in learning, develop world-changers and well-rounded students and inspire them to go on to change the world. By supporting children and parents Ivy Kids strives to make a positive impact on the lives of people living in communities.
"Our focus is on building a quality franchise system that provides a positive impact on children and financial rewards for our franchisees," says Amyn Bandali, Senior Vice President at Ivy Kids.
At the state-of-the-art school/facility presenting programs for children, the prime emphasis is on safety and training which creates an essential safety culture, dedicated to the well-being of the child. The schools include multiple safety features including internet cameras, monitors, auto-lock doors and gates. The distinct features comprise a warm and loving environment equipped with spacious classrooms, SMARTboards, science labs, and extra-curricular activities. It also offers an app where the parents can log in to receive pictures & videos of their child and can learn about their whereabouts & what they do throughout the day. The facility also has a cafeteria with an on-site certified chef who prepares healthy nutritious meals with freshly sourced, quality ingredients that are served every day to the children.
“We just enrolled our son at Ivy Kids (located at Richmond) for summer camp. And, after the first week, the kid told us that he wants to be the first kid at school every day. It feels good, as a parent, to know that he is enjoying everything that they have to offer,” says Janice Randal.
The booming factors
For anyone with a passion for children and the desire to run their own franchised business, starting an Ivy Kids franchise could be the best move. With more parents in the workforce today than ever before and an increasing number of studies evidencing children’s cognitive and social-emotional developmental benefits associated with early childhood education, the need for high-quality childcare has never been higher. As a result, the childcare industry continues to experience tremendous growth. According to The Business Research Company, the global child day care services market is expected to grow to $520 billion in 2022 at a CAGR of around 11%.
These industry trends and the company’s commitment to building children’s and its franchisee’s future are the driving factors behind the momentous growth of Ivy Kids.
