“Through many years on various construction sites, I know the daily challenges very well. Not only professionally but also personally one often reaches its limits”, says Thomas. Ever since his first job as an assistant/site supervisor, his passion has always been to simplify processes in plant engineering. For him, his journey has always meant to be in this industry. “It´s fascinating to see how big projects grow and how we can support billion-projects to become a success”, says Thomas with huge enthusiasm.

“One of my first employment was at a construction site in India. As I faced tons of paperwork and lots of time wasted on the search for the right document, I started to digitalize the processes onsite. And transforming this first construction site to a paperless construction site was the foundation of my career”, carried on Thomas. Together with his former schoolmates, they decided that it just needs a bit of coding to have a lot of paperwork reduced on construction sites.

Thereafter practical, easy to use software for material tracking, defects and progress documentation, production monitoring and the resulting construction daily reports became their core topics. INSITE IT was born. Improving ease-of-use, performance, consistency, and functionality based on user feedback is a continuous endeavor for INSITE IT. The whole team is working to optimize the customer´s construction projects, save costs and find a professional solution for processes that are fairly often heavily paper or excel based. As most of the team-mates have worked on construction sites, the needs and onsite processes are not new. Accordingly, they know exactly how to design the software for it.

“Industry 4.0", "Big Data" sounds all very well, but ultimately the end user has to be the focus. My goal is to add value to every single user of our construction site solution - Insite LMS. These ultimately decide on the success of digitization. Without "data" no "big data", says Thomas.

Thomas manages his time by eliminating all redundant work and believes in focussing on working with high efficiency. “If necessary, I write some code to do so….” laughs Thomas. Thomas values every bit of his journey, he describes every challenge that came his way gave him valuable insights. He recalls how in early days he wasn’t selected as a software vendor because of corporate politics and internal feuds although he was offering the better product. “But I learned not to take everything personally and that there always is a second chance”, says Thomas. It is this kind of attitude that kept him going to reach where he wishes to be towards ‘The Digital Construction World’.
