From Nurse to CEO: A Passion Born of Purpose
Harman began her medical career in 2013, and entered the aesthetics world in 2019 with a clear vision of what she wanted to offer: top-tier results, wrapped in genuine human connection. “I wanted to create a place where people could feel taken care of, like truly taken care of,” she reflects. “Where their goals are heard, where their wellness matters, and where the experience feels more like a retreat than a doctor’s office.”
And people noticed. Even without the urban foot traffic that most spas rely on, Med Spa Express became a word-of-mouth success story in rural Iowa. Its reputation grew through heartfelt testimonials and social media shares that didn’t rely on flashy filters or influencer endorsements, but rather, stories of transformation.
“I am beyond thankful for the top-notch care I receive every time I walk in the door,” one client shares. “All of my life I have searched for someone who would help me get to the root of my health issues instead of just trying to mask them, and Jordyn has been the answer to my prayers.”
Another client adds, “I have an amazing experience every time I come here! The staff is incredibly professional, welcoming, and knowledgeable. The treatments I receive are top notch, and I saw immediate results. The spa itself is beautiful, clean, and relaxing. Every visit leaves me feeling confident and well taken care of. I wouldn’t go anywhere else for my treatments- highly recommend!”
A Whole-Listic Approach to Wellness
Med Spa Express is exactly what its name implies—an express lane to high-quality care—but without the cold efficiency often associated with fast service. Instead, clients are greeted with a warm smile and consultations that last up to an hour. Harman and her staff use that time not just to assess needs, but to educate. “I don’t believe in rushing people in and out,” she explains. “Education is everything. If you don’t understand the why behind a treatment, you’ll never really trust it.”
The spa offers a full suite of services: facials, massages, dermal fillers, RF microneedling, IPL, Sofwave non-invasive facelifts, medicated weight loss, hormone replacement therapy, and IV vitamin infusions. Each service, Harman says, has been hand-picked after rigorous vetting. “I only bring in treatments that are backed by science, and I work exclusively with pharmacies and companies that offer third-party testing.”
And unlike many industry leaders who opt to stick with a single supplier or device manufacturer, Harman deliberately casts a wider net. “I don’t believe one company has the best of everything,” she says. “I take the time to demo, research, and evaluate every single device. I’ve partnered with various companies and colleagues in the field to ensure we’re offering the safest, most effective treatments available.”
Reaching Beyond the Spa Walls
Technology plays a subtle but meaningful role in Harman’s operations. While she’s dabbled in AI for back-end systems and appointment management, she believes the in-person experience must remain human-first. “You can’t replace intuition,” she says. “You can’t replace empathy. There are nuances in a patient’s body language, tone, or energy that no algorithm can catch.”
Instead, Med Spa Express invests in education—both for patients and providers. Harman leads by example, constantly seeking out advanced training opportunities. In 2022, she was the only provider in Iowa invited to train with The Inner Circle in Switzerland, an elite gathering of aesthetic medicine professionals from around the globe.
She brings that knowledge back to her team, ensuring they are trained to uphold the same high standards. “Every staff member is an extension of me,” she says. “If I’m demanding excellence from myself, I expect the same from them—and I give them the tools to succeed.”
