Level Up: How AI, Cybersecurity, and the Cloud are Shaping the Future (and How to Master Them) with Dwayne Natwick

The digital world is evolving at breakneck speed. Artificial intelligence (AI) is infiltrating every aspect of our lives, cloud computing has become the backbone of business, and cybersecurity threats are growing increasingly sophisticated. In this landscape, staying ahead of the curve requires more than just technical expertise; it demands a culture of continuous learning and adaptation.

Navigating this complex terrain requires a new breed of professionals – skilled, adaptable, and equipped to handle the evolving threats.

Dwayne Natwick, founder and CEO of Captain Hyperscaler, isn’t your typical tech entrepreneur story. Instead of tinkering in a garage with a circuit board, his journey began amidst the humming wires and blinking LEDs of telecommunications. From managing sales and operations for Alltel, to earning prestigious certifications like BICSI RCDD and ISC2 CISSP, Natwick’s career has been a testament to an innate passion for technology and its power to transform businesses.

“I always felt called to teach,” says Natwick, “Because I believe that everyone is trainable.” This belief fuels the mission of Captain Hyperscaler: to bridge the gap between raw talent and the practical application of technological knowledge in the world’s increasingly complex digital landscape.

Launched in October 2023, Captain Hyperscaler provides comprehensive training programs for AI, Cybersecurity, and Cloud technologies, tailored to equip professionals with the tools they need to thrive in today’s dynamic market. Natwick believes that the future of technology lies in understanding these domains not just as technical feats, but as vital components of a robust security posture.

“We are living through a technological industrial revolution,” he explains, drawing parallels between the rise of automation and AI with early 20th century assembly lines. “And businesses need to become risk aware.” This is where Captain Hyperscaler shines – not just by providing technical skills but also fostering a culture that empowers individuals to navigate this new world responsibly.

Natwick’s journey is far from a singular success story.  It’s a reflection of the many experiences and challenges he encountered along the way. From managing teams at global systems integrators, Natwick honed his understanding of cloud security, culminating in his role as Global Cloud Security Lead for a managed security services division. This experience gave him a unique vantage point – one that has shaped Captain Hyperscaler’s approach to training.

“I was able to use my network and social media presence to educate the industry on best practices in cloud security,” Natwick recalls, highlighting the importance of knowledge exchange and community building within the cybersecurity sphere.

"For in the vast ocean of digital technology, where storms brew and heroes rise, there exists one captain who sails relentlessly into the heart of the tempest."

Natwick’s future plans are as ambitious as his past successes – he envisions a world where every organization leverages technology’s potential while safeguarding its data and operations.

“Our goal is to become the global leader in technology and adaptability training,” says Natwick, “Where our clients are not just trained on the technical side of things but also equipped with the mindset to be risk-aware and proactively defend themselves.”  This vision goes beyond mere technical proficiency; it’s about empowering individuals with the knowledge and confidence to confidently face the challenges that lie ahead in this dynamic digital world.

As Captain Hyperscaler continues to chart uncharted waters, its mission remains steadfast: educating and empowering individuals to navigate the complex landscape of AI, cybersecurity, and cloud technologies. With a focus on creating a risk-aware culture, Dwayne envisions his company at the forefront of this technological revolution, guiding businesses through the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead.

“Remember,” Dwayne advises, “AI isn’t coming—it’s already here.” As we stand on the precipice of this new era, it is crucial to heed his words. For in the vast ocean of digital technology, where storms brew and heroes rise, there exists one captain who sails relentlessly into the heart of the tempest.
