Not just business
Since its establishment, the core focus of Junk King has always been on safeguarding the ecosystem from the detrimental effects of irresponsible and unhealthy junk eradication processes. Michael with a vision of changing the mindset of people is on a mission to making junk removal a systematic, organized, and eco-friendly process. Having noticed the way junk is irresponsibly dumped into landfills, Michael wants people to understand the impact dumping junk has on the ecology and wants to lay down a structure that will educate and motivate others to eradicate junk responsibly. To grow Junk King into a national brand and share his vision with a multitude of people, Michael started offering Junk King franchises in 2009.
Sharing opportunity. Sharing success
To be a part of this tried and tested franchise system that has offered success and financial freedom to many, one does not need to be a business genius. Though many of Junk King’s franchise partners are successful business people and executives who are experts in sales, marketing, operations, and other franchise systems, it is not at all a mandate. Junk King also have successful franchise partners who are teachers, Navy veterans, accountants, health care professionals, lawyers, moms, and dads. The franchise system is designed and works the same for everyone who desires to succeed and is willing to commit to his own and company’s success.
Once franchisees are on board and training is complete, Junk King ensures the support is beyond exceptional. To empower them, it provides its franchisees an operations team (Franchise Business Consultants) who goes out in the field and works with franchise owners on-site and remotely. To propel its franchisees towards success, Junk King, has a well-defined operational system. “Our partners appreciate the ease of training, the ongoing training support, and the ability to be off and running quickly,” shares Michael. Having understood the importance of good customer service, Junk King bears the responsibility of providing exceptional customer service thereby enabling its franchise owners to concentrate on business development and enhancing customer relationships. “One of the things that make Junk King extremely unique is the fact that we have such a successful and efficient national call center,” emphasizes Michael. “Over 90 percent of all customer call activity is filtered through our centralized call center so that our franchisees don’t have to worry about being available 24/7 to pick up the phone.” Moreover, by having its own call center Junk King eliminates the need for each franchisee to have their ever-growing team of people trained to take calls with a growing business. “We are committed to combining old-fashioned customer service principles with state-of-the-art technology to provide customers with timely and professional junk removal services,” states Michael.
Junk King’s business is automation resistant, recession-resistant, and pandemic resistant. The company’s revenue has been up year over year through the pandemic, as they are an essential business. It is a business model that Steve Kaiser, owner of Junk King Phoenix, Surprise & Mesa likes. He says, “I became interested in Junk King because of the scalability of the model, but I have come to love Junk King for the people and the interesting things we pick up.” While Paul Durant, owner of Junk King Denver South and Denver North expresses, “Franchising allows us to operate independently, with little red tape. I like mentoring younger employees in our organization and recycling/donating a large percentage of our work. Both are ways of giving back to the community that is woven into our culture.”
With a simple and transparent financial business plan, extreme commitment towards its customers and franchisees, and a goal to reduce environmental impact, Junk King is more than a mere junk removal company.
“Our goal is to become the leading provider of all junk removal services, while helping to save the planet, one truck at a time, by being environmentally conscious,” says Michael.
