Trailblazing Coaches to Follow 2025 | The Professional Growth Company

“Coaching isn’t about fixing people, it’s about helping them find the tools they already have but didn’t realise they could use.”

Leadership today is evolving. It’s not just about results; it’s about connection, communication, and genuine growth. That’s where Fiona Campbell comes in. A Leadership Coach, NLP Business Coach Trainer, and Leadership Development Trainer, Fiona’s work is all about helping people lead and live with more clarity, confidence, and heart.

Through her business, The Professional Growth Company, Fiona has supported thousands of professionals and coaches to grow, lead, and thrive using practical tools grounded in neuroscience and NLP. Her approach is refreshingly simple: no jargon, no fluff, just real, usable strategies that make a lasting difference.

“We focus on giving people coaching tools they can actually use in the real world,” Fiona says. “Our programmes are designed to build trust, communication, and leadership in a way that feels authentic.”

Her clients often leave sessions feeling lighter, clearer, and more focused. “They get more confident too, and that’s always a win in my book,” she adds.

From Sales to Self-Mastery

Fiona’s journey into coaching started in the world of international sales, a fast-paced environment where she quickly realised that understanding people was the real key to success. “I became fascinated by what really motivates people,” she says.

That fascination led her to discover NLP in 1989. “It was a lightbulb moment for me,” Fiona recalls. “I saw how much our thoughts shape our behaviour and how easily we can shift those thoughts with the right tools.”

This discovery sparked a passion to help others understand themselves better and become the leaders they want to be. By 2002, she made the leap to full-time coaching and training. “I haven’t looked back.”

The Values That Guide Her Work

At the heart of Fiona’s business are values that guide everything she does: truthfulness, recognition, understanding others, support, and transparency. These values create a safe space for honest conversations and meaningful growth.

“People want to feel seen, heard, and supported and they want tools that help them change for good,” she says.

To support that change, Fiona has developed simple frameworks like:

TRUST: Truthfulness, Recognition, Understanding Others, Support, Transparency, Timeliness

RAFT: Reflecting on Results, Actions, Feelings, and Thoughts to uncover success strategies

CIRCLE: Communication, Integrity, Respect, Collaboration, Listening, Empathy

SPLATR: A questioning tool to cut through confusion and get to the heart of the matter

What Really Gets in the Way

The biggest issue Fiona sees again and again? Self-doubt.

“Even smart, experienced people struggle with it,” she says. “It shows up as hesitation, overthinking, second-guessing… and it stops them moving forward.”

"We focus on giving people coaching tools they can actually use in the real world."

Her approach is to help clients get clear on what’s getting in the way, reframe the story they’re telling themselves, and create action steps that feel doable and meaningful. “When you know what matters most and feel confident in your own skin, things just start to flow.” Another big theme she supports clients with is work-life balance. But for Fiona, it’s not about splitting time evenly. “It’s about living and working in a way that’s aligned with your values. We look at the big picture, get clear on what matters, and then put simple systems and boundaries in place.”

What Makes a Great Leader

Fiona has developed a simple model called CLEAR Leadership:

C: Clarity of Vision

L: Lifelong Learning & Curiosity

E: Empathy

A: Awareness of Self

R: Resilience

“These traits help leaders stay grounded and grow others along the way,” she explains.

The Coaching Sweet Spot: Empathy and Accountability

Fiona creates a safe, supportive space for clients to explore what’s working and what’s not. But she also gently holds them accountable.

“It’s about asking the right questions, being curious, and helping people get really clear on what they want and then supporting them to take action.”

Her results speak for themselves. She’s been invited back to work with senior teams across multiple cohorts in one organisation and has created a CPD-accredited online programme to help others build trust and lead with impact. She’s also the author of the upcoming book Working With Trust.

Wisdom for the Next Generation of Coaches and Leaders

Fiona’s advice is refreshingly real:

You don’t need all the answers learn to ask better questions.

Trust is built through small, consistent actions.

The ability to reframe a situation can change everything.

She encourages new coaches to focus on listening, asking open questions, developing emotional intelligence, and understanding how people think and change. “And be yourself,” she adds. “People are drawn to realness.”

Her go-to resources? Guide to Transformation by Dr. Richard Bandler and Empathy at Work by Mimi Nicklin.

Looking Ahead: Human-Centred Coaching in a Fast-Changing World

As coaching continues to grow, Fiona sees a move toward more specialised, human-centred support.

“People want coaches who get their world and can offer practical tools, not just theory,” she says. She believes AI will take over admin tasks, freeing coaches up to focus more on human connection. “Because real change happens in relationship.”

Fiona’s mission is to make coaching more accessible, practical, and part of everyday life and work. “I want to keep things simple, easy, and real because that’s where the magic happens.”

And it’s that steady, caring voice that’s redefining leadership, one honest conversation at a time.
