In an interview with Aspioneer, Elyse Lupin, MBA, CFE, President and Founder of Elysium Marketing Group, speaks about the significant milestones in her life, from majoring in marketing at Penn State until she founded Elysium Marketing Group. Elyse, who has over 20 years of marketing experience, has been described as “an amazing, high-energy professional marketing executive.” She shares how her passion for marketing was the key motivation for starting a company and her experiences in traversing entrepreneurship.

Aspioneer (A): Please give us an overview of Elysium Marketing Group.

Elyse Lupin (EL): Elysium Marketing Group is a full-service marketing agency specializing in food and franchise. Our tagline is “Dynamic Marketing Strategy & Upscale Creative. Let us Help You Reach Elysium.

Elysium Marketing Group is headquartered in Ambler, PA, outside of Philadelphia. We specialize in branding & marketing creative, strategy and acquisition, digital marketing, content marketing, branding, logos, and websites.

A: What were the key highlights of your journey towards Elysium Marketing Group?

EL: I began my professional journey working for renowned brands such as Comcast, NBC, Disney, and New Balance Athletic Shoes. Each stint at these companies imparted me with diverse marketing skills, while simultaneously shaping my understanding of the type of leader I aspired to become and those I sought to avoid. By the time I started Elysium, I had added up skills, experience, and abilities that helped me run my Marketing agency to support clients’ businesses. I founded Elysium Marketing Group at a juncture that felt opportune for several reasons. At the time, my son was just nine months old, and the demands of a relentless job I disliked were keeping me away from him far too often. Fueled by substantial marketing experience, and prodded by a mentor who recognized my potential, I leaped into entrepreneurship. While my professional background was primarily centered around strategic endeavors, I recognized how important branding was to the marketing equation. I understood that a robust marketing strategy could only thrive if supported by a sturdy foundation of a compelling brand, a well-crafted website, and other essential elements.

A: What is the USP of Elysium Marketing Group?

EL: We specialize in digital marketing and branding services. Clients engage us to not only generate new leads but also to craft and establish brands, ultimately enhancing brand awareness and boosting sales. Our comprehensive marketing services are designed to assist our clients in building a strong brand presence, amplifying brand awareness, facilitating franchise sales, and driving traffic to physical locations or online platforms.

A: In your experience, what are the typical business challenges that Marketing leaders may encounter?

EL: Marketing leaders grapple with many challenges, chief among them being the recruitment of expert marketers who can seamlessly integrate into the team. The dynamic nature of marketing, especially in the digital realm, presents an ever-evolving landscape that demands rapid adaptation. Moreover, a significant hurdle lies in senior leaders who may not fully grasp the adage that substantial investments are required for monetary gains, often underestimating the financial commitments essential for success.

A: How has Elysium Marketing Group managed to gain a trajectory in the ever-evolving marketing space and what does the future strategy for growth look like?

EL: Over the years, Elysium’s business model has transformed as we strategically pivoted to specialize in the food and franchise industries. This deliberate focus has empowered our team to refine their expertise within these specific domains, enabling us to not only stay abreast of the latest marketing trends but also to stay attuned to the nuanced dynamics of the industries we serve. Our future trajectory involves a continual expansion across the nation, dedicated to fostering the growth and expansion of franchises and restaurant groups. We’ve been receiving great testimonials from satisfied customers. Mike Christou, Founder of Árdana Food and Drink said, “The Elysium team has met and surpassed every expectation we had when we decided to hire a marketing company. Elyse has managed to assemble a group that is willing to work around the clock to assure their client is satisfied with the content they’re putting out. Aside from transforming our current restaurant’s online presence, they developed a brand for our new concept that we’re truly proud of.” And, Kim Collier, Director of Franchise Development for Ducklings Early Learning Centers said, “Once we started working with Elysium… we started getting leads from the right places for the right types of customers… and our business has really taken off in the way that we intended at the pace that we intended.” ” With a clear vision, we aspire to emerge as one of the top 10 franchise marketing agencies by the year 2025.

"Since no two businesses are the same, no two marketing strategies should be the same."

A: Words of advice to Marketing leaders?

EL: Marketing leaders can position themselves for future success in the digital landscape by immersing themselves in forward-thinking articles and books, strategically onboarding experts specializing in distinct digital fields, and maintaining an unwavering commitment to delivering exceptional service to clients.

A: Tell us about the WoMo Network that you founded to support working moms.

EL: I co-founded the WoMo Network in 2016 along with my friend. The goal of the Network is to be a resource for all Working Moms by telling inspiring stories of successful Working Moms and providing support and inspiration for all Working Moms out there. The impetus for WoMos was when I had my son and went back to work twelve weeks later. There was nothing to help me get through that time so I kept thinking that it would be interesting to hear the stories of other moms and what their tips and tricks are. The WoMo network took a hiatus over the pandemic, but I realized that now more than ever before working mothers need to be able to rely on each other and provide support. We’re working on starting back up with new WoMo events in 2024.

A: Are you affiliated with both the Center for Loss and Bereavement as well as ShadowHer?

EL: Yes, I sit on the Board of the Center for Loss and Bereavement, a non-profit organization that offers a place of comfort and professional support services for people experiencing profound loss and grief. The Center has been a leading provider for over 20 years of professional grief counseling, support groups, and resources to individuals and families, helping them find strength, connection, and solace through the tragic circumstances of loss and death. I also act as a marketing advisor for ShadowHer, an organization that empowers women entrepreneurs under $1MM in revenue with the subject matter experts and mentors to get over that threshold.  ShadowHer provides an inclusive community that fosters mentorship, advocacy, and educational resources.

A: What do you do in your free time?

EL: In my spare time, I spend time with my family- my husband, son, and daughter. I also enjoy reading, traveling, playing tennis, going to concerts, watching Penn State football games, and rooting for the Eagles and Phillies.
