With the increase in popularity of voice assistants like Alexa and Google Assistant, and the abundance of podcasts being created by radio stations, brands, media companies and with more and more people eager to interact with audio, it's time for the next big thing.
Enter Audioburst. Audioburst’s mission is to organize the world's audio content and build the world’s largest audio library. All the content around us, say websites, videos, photos, music, etc are in tune with the connected world, however, voice content is misplaced and murky. Tracking, probing, finding and retrieving the audio content from current text-based search engines to deliver relevant information is far away from elegant. To enhance this voice value chain, Audioburst provides 'outcomes to queries' via 'input as keywords' with 'actual human voices' making voice content from radio, TV or any other audio sources searchable as well as discoverable.
Audioburst was established in 2014 and has hubs in Tel Aviv, Palo Alto, New York, and Tokyo. They are currently present in voice assistants in the home and on mobile, in-car infotainment systems, in TVs, in-apps, in wearables and in media partnerships with the likes of Nippon, Radioline, Bytedance and the newest being Samsung.
“We want to change the way people experience audio content,” asserts Amir.

A Captivating Prospect
Audioburst is an AI-based Voice Search platform that connects audio content and users. Every day, Audioburst AI platform listens to, understands, segments and indexes millions of minutes of audio information from top radio stations and podcasts. Powered by advancedNLPtechnology and a proprietary AI platform that indexes audio segments into searchable bursts in real-time, Audioburst has introduced an entirely new way for consumers and businesses to interact with live or recorded audio content across platforms and devices.
“Audioburst is essentially the Spotify for spoken word content. Rather than tuning into a pre-programmed station or playlist, our AI builds a unique audio stream for every listener. Each stream is built from short audio clips that are cut from diverse professional audio sources”, explains Amir.
By organizing live and pre-recorded audio content to make it more easily accessible and discoverable, Audioburst aims to power the next generation of listening experiences across web, mobile, IoT and in-car entertainment systems.
Enriched Audio Content
Audioburst offers an exhilarating search interface called AudioburstSearch through its own website. The one-and-only audio transcription service, which listens to the word by word from radio stations/ podcasts/ other audio sources and creates its own metadata tags based on the subject discussed in them. The technology then makes the relevant content, searchable by keyword, available to its users as by search engines for any text piece. In that way, making available 'bursts' i.e. highlights of an audio clip. Yet again, bursts are easily searched, shared, credited, collected, and linked to their original source so the creator’s content has the ability to reach new heights.
“We’ve built a machine that constantly listens to a variety of audio that’s being broadcasted and uploaded as podcasts,” says Amir. “As it’s listening, we do things to the audio to make it easy to discover.”
Audioburst creates a ‘listening identity’ based on the user's unique listening patterns, interests, preferences and also generates a user-specific dynamic playlist. Subsequently, the listener's can access snippets of audio or the entire audio clip by reaching back to the original source. It may be trending topics, recent news feed or just any other audio type which can be shared through social media. Furthermore giving its users an edge by creating as well as managing their personalized playlist, staying updated, and engaged through custom audio notifications. The ability to process audio in real-time has made Audioburst untouchable in the realm of audio search.
Additionally, developers can also access the API to tap into the robust contentlibrary and introduce a more dynamic and personalized listening experience for users across in-car infotainment systems, digital assistants, IoT gadgets, smartphones and more.

A New Golden Age
'Old' is 'Gold' but 'New' is 'Titanium'! With IoT and the acceleration of Audioburst voice technology, the company aims to enable screen independence and synchronicity in voice search across devices. The expected trajectory shall be first to see a move towards greater consumer reliance on voice search and assistants alongside more partner integrations and then, move towards screen independence where screens still exist but aren’t a requirement in order to engage with the technology and search functionality. Audioburst wants to bring a radical technologic shift to see how consumers interact with devices in the future.
The company recently closed on a Series A round of $14.4M USD headed by Samsung Ventures, also have many other exciting partnerships to be announced in 2019 and touts to see - 'A world where Audioburst Technology is embedded in every device we interact with'.
